Dubai is taking its government to the Metaverse

While speaking at the MetaDecrypt Web 3.0 Summit on Sunday, chief metaverse officer of

Cybergear Sharad Agarwal said,

“We have started getting a lot of inquiries from government departments and ministries

to make them Metaverse-enabled. It is just a matter of time before Dubai becomes the

crypto and Metaverse hub of the world – not only the region.”

Agarwal goes on to say, “Initial steps have already been taken, so it is a matter of time before there will be a

mandate for all government departments to start the onboarding process.” [16]

In May, the Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan announced the launch of the “Dubai Metaverse Strategy”, an initiative to increase the contribution of the metaverse sector to Dubai’s economy to $4 billion by 2030.

Sheikh Mohammed said:

“We seek to transform Dubai into the world’s best city in the world to live, work, and

invest. The constant development of government services is vital to achieve this goal

and ensure Dubai maintains high levels of global competitiveness
