Ethereum’s Sepolia Testnet successfully merges to Proof-of-Stake

The Sepolia test network officially merged from proof-of-work to proof-of-stake at around 17:00 UTC on Wednesday. The event marks another major milestone for Ethereum as it moves one step closer to its mainnet upgrade later this year.

Coindesk reports,

“No significant glitches have been reported since the testnet merge took place.”

Sepolia was the second of three public testnets to run through the Merge.

The first major testnet merge, Ropsten, was completed on June 8.

Now only the Goerli testnet remains.
