Emerging smartphone maker Nothing is joining forces with layer-2 sidechain Polygon to bring
Web3 functionality to their new smartphone, Phone.
On Wednesday, Nothing announced the launch of its first NFT project in collaboration with the
Polygon network.
Nothing’s first NFT token, called Black Dots, will be airdropped in the coming days to community investors and Phone (1) pre-order customers. Holders of the NFT tokens will receive special community benefits.
Carl Pei, CEO and Co-founder of Nothing spoke on their partnering with Polygon,
“By partnering with Polygon, a leader in blockchain innovation, we’re delivering an accessible, and importantly, a more sustainable Web3 experience.”
Polygon has over 19,000 decentralized services on its network and is already working with
major global brands such as Meta (Facebook), Adobe, and Stripe.
Co-founder of Polygon Sandeep Nailwal said of the collaboration,
“It's immensely encouraging to see an innovator like Nothing embrace Web3 from the get-go, enabling direct access to Web3 by working with Polygon… We're elated to be collaborating with the Nothing team to foster a sustainable approach to Web3 entry in the coming months.”
Polygon ($MATIC) is currently trading at $0.51.
